Coastal Structures

Baird has extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of coastal structures at locations throughout the world. Baird's experience, and thorough project-specific investigations result in innovative designs that consistently meet client objectives and substantially reduce construction costs.

Baird is internationally recognized for its contributions to the design of rubblemound breakwaters, including pioneering the "berm" design concept in the early 1980's, and using physical models to "optimize" the design of rubblemound breakwaters. More recently, Baird has been involved in the design and construction of numerous structures using Core-Loc armor units.
