Coastal or Hydraulic Engineer (OTT110)

Ottawa, Ontario

Baird is seeking a motivated, dynamic and personable coastal/hydraulic engineer, with experience in the planning and design of coastal structures, to join our team in the Ottawa office. Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in civil/coastal engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in coastal/hydraulic engineering
  • Experience with numerical/physical modeling and design of rubblemound structures
  • Professional registration in Canada (P.Eng.) or the United States (P.E.)
  • Familiarity with Great Lakes and ocean environments
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet and analyses skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Flexible work style, and ability to meeting challenging deadlines and client needs
  • Ability to work well on multi-disciplinary teams (internal and external)
  • Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in coastal engineering
  • 10+ years experience in coastal/hydraulic engineering
  • Experience with design of marine structures
  • Experience with Arctic conditions and ice engineering
  • Field experience (site investigations, stone inspection and construction observations)
  • Professional registration in both Canada (P.Eng.) and the United States (P.E.)
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish
