Please join us in welcoming Ron Heffron to Baird & Associates as our new Global Lead – Marine Terminals. With more than 35 years of experience, Ron brings a distinguished career in marine and energy engineering, along with a strong reputation as a strategic leader, innovator, and business developer.

Ron’s expertise complements Baird’s established capabilities in port, coastal, and energy infrastructure engineering. In his new role, he will lead the continued growth of Baird’s global marine terminals practice, with a focus on building teams, expanding our project portfolio, and strengthening our presence across LNG terminals, ports and shipping terminals, military waterfronts, offshore wind, and emerging clean fuels markets.

Throughout his career, Ron has successfully opened new offices and expanded into new regions for growing consulting engineering firms, establishing strong positions in marine and energy markets around the world. He has also served on management and operations committees and Boards of Directors, providing strategic leadership and helping shape organizational growth and direction.

Ron is widely recognized as an innovator and subject matter expert in Floating LNG (FLNG) infrastructure planning and design. His international experience includes more than 70 Floating LNG and energy terminal projects across six continents, reflecting both the depth of his technical expertise and the global scope of his career.

A prolific contributor to the industry, Ron has authored and presented more than 100 technical papers and presentations worldwide on the planning, design, inspection, and rehabilitation of facilities in the marine environment. His work has helped advance knowledge and best practices across some of the industry’s most complex infrastructure challenges. He has most recently served as chairman of PIANC Working Group 153, since its inception ~2010, which published global guidance for the design of marine terminals for oil, LNG, Floating LNG, petrochemical and clean fuels terminals.

We are excited to have Ron’s leadership and expertise as part of the Baird team and look forward to the opportunities ahead as we continue to deliver innovative, practical solutions for our clients across the marine terminals and energy sectors.
